DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SATEEN AND TAFFETA

The difference achieved in the appearance of the fabric weaving the Pima like or taffeta, is in how the threads are woven on the loom.

The wires for the sateen (500 thread our Pima) are woven doing that 4 warp threads pass over one frame. In the case of the Pima (and generally) when the tissue is more sort sateen sheen is achieved on the cloth.

The taffeta (our 300 thread count pima) is a tissue plane in which the threads are even: one up (warp) and 1 crossing (weft). With this form of weaving the fabric achieves stability and has a lot of froufrou when moved, but it isn\'t so bright because it breaks the light beam.

The idea is that the variation in appearance it\'s given by the way the threads are woven on the loom.

Same whether it\'s sateen or taffeta, pima behavior makes the two fabrics soft, because pima fiber has that attribute.

For a material can have 300 threads per inch what has to happen is that in an inch must enter 300 thread, if the fabric is 500 thread will be the same but the wires have to be thinner and finer to be 500 and not 300 the fit.

However, this variation in the number of threads does not affect the strength, durability, freshness and sweetness that characterize the Peruvian pima cotton fiber.

Moreover, both have much resistance to the time and they can be washed and ironed easily.
